What is a DNO?
Distribution Network Operator (DNO)
The Distribution Network Operator (DNO) is the company that is licensed to distribute electricity by OFGEM. The DNO is responsible for getting the electricity from the National Grid to homes and businesses. They do not supply electricity themselves, the electricity is supplied by your electricity supply company who use the distribution network to get the electricity to your home or business. They are also responsible for allocating the core MPAN and operating and administering a Meter Point Administration System that manages the details relating to each supply point
